Bud Hyrczyk Passes Away at the Age of 67
We are very sorry to report that Lotsie "Bud" John Hyrczyk Jr., of Russell Springs, Ky., formerly of Yukon, PA, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentuckey. He was born Dec. 20, 1948, in Yukon, to the late Lotsie John and Dorothy Leskosek Hyrczyk. He was a financial planner for Prudential Insurance Company. He was a world-renowned polka musician, recording artist and in the Polka Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hyrczyk; four children, Amy (Regis) Busch, of Pennsylvania, Jeremy (Jen) Phillips, of California, Jennifer (Corby) Bloom, of Texas, and Sabrina (Mark) Barnett, of Russell Springs, Ky.; six grandchildren; and one brother, Michael (Bonnie) Hyrczyk, Pennsylvania.
Bud will be missed by everyone who enjoyed his music. Bud recorded his first album, Buttons, Buttons, Buttons, in 1983 to rave reviews. It would not be until 2010 when Bud would release another recording. He went onto record three more CDs from 2011 through 2014, releasing a total of 62 songs - most of them original compositions. Bud's CDs remain available through Polka Connection. Bud had plans to release more CDs in the future prior to his untimely passing. Bud's music will be missed as will his friendship to the many fans who knew him.
